Mirror Flower Ridge is a scenic area developed based on the landscapes described in the famous Qing Dynasty novelist Li Ruzhen’s works. It primarily features natural scenery, harmoniously blending lake and forest landscapes.

Here, lush pines thrive and green shades blanket the mountains, while the winding mountain paths offer uniquely charming and varied views. As Li Ruzhen put it: "Pass through the pine forest, then look around—you’ll find the water exquisitely clear and the mountains boundlessly beautiful." Visitors can experience the unforgettable journey of Tang Xiaoshan and Yin Ruohua, two filial daughters who searched for their fathers on Mirror Flower Ridge.

Mirror Flower Ridge currently features eight scenic spots: Three Pools Mirroring Green, Twin Turtles Emerging from the Sea, Mid-mountain Song Pavilion, Emerald Embrace Couch, Sunset over the Green Lake, Verdant Beauty All Around, Crocodile Ripples the Waves, and Flying Gourd Peach. These allow visitors to appreciate the beauty of Wanlv Lake (Ten Thousand Green Lakes) from various perspectives, making it an ideal place for lake viewing. When the sun sets, “The glow of the horizon melts into the water, and water and sky blush red all at once; one must watch until the third watch of the night, when the golden sun first rises into the blue sky.”

Mirror Flower Ridge is the best spot to admire the shimmering lake and water scenery. Spatially speaking, the foreground features Three Pools Mirroring Green, the mid-ground showcases Crocodile Ripples the Waves, and the background presents Twin Turtles Emerging from the Sea—among over 300 small islands of diverse shapes. Within your view, you can take in the poetic vision that “the lake nestles at the foot of the mountain, and the mountain leans by the lake’s edge; they are so intimate that the lake seems to have swallowed the mountain whole. What it swallows is blue, what it spits out is green,” and “The green spreads as one vast expanse, yet never content to remain so—it wrinkles oddly, like soft fluff tracing countless patches of green”—isn’t this the very scenery once depicted by Zhu Ziqing? Temporally, throughout the year, Wanlv Lake appears misty in spring, vibrant in summer, radiant in autumn, and serene in winter. Within a single day, under fair weather, the lake glows golden in the morning, emerald at noon, blushed with sunset hues in the evening, and silver under starlight. Some liken these splendid water colors to the four pursuits in life: wealth, nobility, love, and peace. And when admiring Wanlv Lake in the rain, you might witness “sunshine on the eastern horizon and rain on the western,” or a rainbow drinking from the lake, casting a spectrum of colors; sometimes, a lone boat drifts across the vast misty waters—and you, by the lakeside, will find all worries and worldly dust washed away clean.
