Mirror Flower Legend Tourist Area

The Mirror Flower Legend Tourist Area is situated at the dock of Wanlv Lake in Heyuan, the largest reservoir in South China and a national AAAA-level scenic spot. In the Qing Dynasty, Li Ruzhen wrote about the story of the Fairy of All Flowers being banished to the mortal world in his novel "Mirror Flower Legend." Heyuan shares an inseparable bond with the Fairy of All Flowers, as it is said to be her birthplace. The stunning natural scenery of the Mirror Flower Legend Scenic Area coincides in many ways with the landscapes described in the book. Hence, the area was named "Mirror Flower Legend," blending emotion with scenery to recreate "the hometown of the Fairy of All Flowers, a dreamlike realm of flowers and moonlight." It presents visitors with a picturesque, almost mythical paradise.

Built upon the unique natural beauty and abundant flora and fauna of Wanlv Lake, the Mirror Flower Legend Scenic Area highlights natural ecology, gardens, forests, and peculiar rocks and caves. Centered around the celestial landscapes and fascinating tales depicted in "Mirror Flower Legend," the area features attractions and activities such as the Hundred Flowers Square, Hundred Flowers Path, Lüxiang Pavilion, Dream-Entry Rock, Emerald Valley, Rouge Cave, Weeping Rouge Pavilion, Daughter Kingdom, and high-altitude zip-lining. It is a comprehensive tourist destination integrating sightseeing, lakeside vacations, forest retreats, health and wellness tourism, conference travel, and specialized adventure experiences.

Hundred Flowers Fairy Square: This seemingly floating figure is the Fairy of All Flowers, who presides over all the famous blossoms in the world. After being banished to the mortal realm, the fairy was born in Heyuan. The statue is designed based on the image of the Fairy of All Flowers as described in the novel. The large stone stele on the left bears the three characters “镜花缘” (Mirror Flower Legend), inscribed in the 99-year-old handwriting of the renowned calligrapher Li Xiongcai.
