The Huangcun Revolutionary Martyrs' Cemetery serves as a patriotic education base.

The Huangcun Revolutionary Martyrs' Cemetery is situated on the summit of Fuligang Mountain to the east of Huangcun Town, Dongyuan County.

Constructed in 1957, the cemetery has a roughly 12-meter-high memorial monument standing at its center. The front of the monument is inscribed with the six large characters "Long Live the Fallen Martyrs," topped by a torch, and below are engraved an epitaph and the names of 102 martyrs. The remains of martyrs such as former County Party Secretary Jiang Shangyao, Special Commissioner Zhou Liqun, County Party Committee member and — Minister Qiu Guozhang are interred here.

Behind the monument stands a five-pointed star, 74 centimeters thick with tips measuring 2.27 meters in length. In front of the monument is a hexagonal memorial pavilion where visitors can rest in the shade. The entire cemetery covers an area of 2,000 square meters. As visitors ascend the steps toward the monument, a deep sense of reverence naturally arises; from within the cemetery, one can overlook the entire Huangcun market town and surrounding rural areas.

In October 2006, it was designated as a patriotic education base by the Heyuan Municipal Party Committee and Municipal Government.

Huangcun: [Historical Evolution] Established in the late Qianlong period of the Qing Dynasty, it is said that at that time, people surnamed Huang set up shops and markets here, hence the name Huangcun Market. During the Qing Dynasty, it belonged to Lanling Prefecture, Lanxi Pact. In the Republican era, it was known as Lanxi Township. After the founding of the People’s Republic of China, it was renamed Huangcun. It is now Huangcun Town.

[Geographical Environment] Located in the northeast of Dongyuan County, at 115°25' east longitude and 23°51' north latitude. It is 116 kilometers from the city center and is the most remote town in the northeast of Dongyuan County. It borders Changbu in Wuhua County to the east, Zhongba in Zijin County to the south, Yetan in the county to the west, and Zishi in Longchuan County to the north.
