The Huangcun Ningshan Xiayapojie Battle Site is a classic red tourism attraction.

The Huangcun Ningshan Xiayapojie Battle Site is located in Ningshan Village, Huangcun Town, Dongyuan County.

On November 7, 1948, after a suppression campaign in Lan, Neng, and Kang, the enemy’s 13th Security Regiment, confident in its strong numbers and advanced equipment, sent out troops in all directions in an attempt to eliminate our guerrilla forces. Wang Biao, commander of the 4th Regiment of the Guangdong People’s Liberation Army’s Guangdong-Gan Border Column, and Deputy Commander Zhang Huiming led a reinforced squad and over 100 regular militia from the border villages. At Xiayapojie on the mountainside of Qimuzhang, they repelled an attack by one battalion of the Kuomintang’s 13th Security Regiment along with nearly a thousand enemy forces, including local reactionary joint defense units, self-defense teams, and the county police battalion. The intense battle lasted six to seven hours, during which 12 enemies were killed—including Company Commander Zeng Jinshui of the 13th Security Regiment—over ten were wounded, and more than 20 were captured. The attackers also lost over 20 guns and two crates of ammunition.
