The Site of the Radius Ambush Battle is located in Banjing Village, Yetan Town, Dongyuan County.

In early 1946, the Kuomintang forces stationed in Lan Kou and the Lan Kou Militia were preparing to attack Huangcun and “encircle and suppress” Communists and revolutionary masses. After learning of this intelligence, the leadership of our Eastern Advance Troops conducted a detailed analysis and concluded that enemy troops advancing from Yetan to Huangcun would inevitably pass through Banjing in Yetan. Therefore, they decided to deploy troops at multiple mountain passes and junctions near Banjing to strike the incoming enemy. Around 9:00 a.m. on January 5, several hundred enemy troops entered the ambush zones of Pengziduan and Fozu'ao in Banjing, where our forces opened fire fiercely with machine guns, rifles, and handguns. This prevented the enemy from advancing even an inch and forced them into a chaotic retreat. After nearly a day of fighting, 8 enemies were captured, one war horse and a batch of ammunition were seized. The plan of the enemy to invade Huangcun and attack our forces was thwarted, significantly weakening their arrogance.

Yetan Town: Originally part of Nengxi Township—one of the regions including Lan, Neng, and Kang—Yetan Town came under the jurisdiction of Huangcun Commune in 1958, was split off to form Yetan Commune in 1961, and became a town in 1986.
