Former Site of the People's Government of Nengxi Township

The former site of the People's Government of Nengxi Township is a classic red tourism destination.

The former site of the People's Government of Nengxi Township is located in the town area of Yetan Town, Dongyuan County.

In May 1949, after the defection of the Nationalist Party’s 13th Security Regiment, Zhang Huaji, Secretary of the Hedong Sub-Working Committee, appointed Ouyang Yu as the head of the People's Government of Nengxi Township, and Huang Qiyu and Huang Shengan as deputy heads, in accordance with organizational decisions. In June, the founding meeting of the People's Government of Nengxi Township was held at Mingde Building in Rubu, proclaiming the renewed liberation of the people of Nengxi Township. The meeting announced that the land redistribution and debt cancellation carried out in the spring of 1948 remained valid, and households could continue to cultivate the land they had originally been allocated.

The site has since been converted into residential housing.

Yetan Town: Originally part of one of the three regions — Lan, Neng, and Kang — namely Nengxi Township, Yetan Town was under the jurisdiction of Huangcun Commune in 1958, became Yetan Commune when it split off in 1961, and was established as a town in 1986. The town is a veteran revolutionary base area from the Anti-Japanese War and the Liberation War periods, and was the site of the original Heyuan County Committee. It is located at 115°10' east longitude and 23°53' north latitude, bordering Huangcun Town to the east, Kanghe Town to the south, Lankou Town to the west, and Longchuan County to the north.
