The former site of the Zhongcai Branch of the Communist Party of China is a classic red tourism destination.

The former site of the Zhongcai Branch of the Communist Party of China is located in Baicai Village, Dengta Town, Dongyuan County.

Between February and March 1948, Zhong Yuanxiong, a leader of the Hexi Sub-branch Working Committee, established the first Party cell of the Communist Party of China in Dengta at this house. In May of the same year, the Hexi Sub-branch Working Committee, in response to revolutionary development and the needs of the struggle, recruited over 20 members of the CPC in Zhongcai, forming the Zhongcai Branch of the Communist Party of China in Dengta under the leadership of Huang Ri. Feng Dazhao served as the branch secretary. The branch had Party cells in Baicai, Huangtuling, and Yingguang. Under the leadership of the Party branch, the Xionghu Guerrilla Unit, Feie Guerrilla Unit, and Feima Guerrilla Unit were formed. With the Party branch’s guidance, the peaceful liberation of Baicai was planned, as well as the “Four Attacks on Dengta,” new routes were established to connect with the Hedong Sub-branch Working Committee, enemy intelligence was gathered, and arrangements were made to gather guerrilla forces from Shangwan, Luohu, and other areas to participate in the Darenling Battle. The forces also welcomed the southward advance of the People’s Liberation Army and incorporated the Xionghu, Feie, and Feima guerrilla units into the Seventh Regiment of the Second East Detachment. The establishment and activities of the Zhongcai Branch of the Communist Party of China made an immortal contribution to the liberation of the people of Dengta.

This former site was originally a residence of the Feng family, built during the Qing Dynasty. It faces south with a north orientation and has a two-courtyard, two-wing layout. It spans 33.7 meters in width and 18.0 meters in depth, covering an area of 606 square meters. The structure is made of wood, earth, brick, and tile, with stone foundation walls, earthen plaster walls coated with lime on the surface. The load-bearing walls support roof beams, with a gable and hip roof covered with gray tiles. The front features a row of three doors, with the main door in a recessed style, using through-tenon beam construction, wooden eave pillars, drum-shaped blue stone bases, and blue stone door frames with double wooden doors. The center consists of two connected halls, with a corridor between them, flanked by side rooms. There is one row of wing rooms on the east and west sides each. The western wing room has collapsed, and the rear part of the eastern wing room has also collapsed. In front of the house is a courtyard with a circular well in the center.
