Former Site of the Heyuan County Committee of the Communist Party of China

The former site of the establishment of the Heyuan County Committee of the Communist Party of China is a classic red tourism attraction.

The former site of the establishment of the Heyuan County Committee of the Communist Party of China is located at Mai She Pai and He Wu, Ye Tan Village, Ye Tan Town, Dongyuan County.

In June 1940, in accordance with instructions from the Dongjiang Special Committee of the Communist Party of China, the Heyuan County Committee of the Communist Party of China was officially established. Huang Cikuan was appointed secretary, Zhang Huaji as head of organization, Cai Zipei as head of propaganda, Ouyang Yuan as head of youth, –– department head Qiu Guozhang, and head of women’s affairs Guan Qiqing. The committee was headquartered in Mai She Village and came under the leadership of the Longchuan Central County Committee of the Communist Party of China. It had jurisdiction over the Nengxi District Committee, Lanxi District Committee, and the Chongyi Middle School Party Branch.

This former site was originally a residence of a resident of Mai She Village, built during the Qing Dynasty. It faces south and is situated along a north-south axis, measuring 14 meters in width and 13 meters in depth, covering an area of 182 square meters. The structure features a combination of timber, earth, bricks, and tiles, with stone and brick walls coated in lime plaster and a flush-gable roof.

In 2005, the Dongyuan County Committee of the Communist Party of China renovated He Wu into the “Former Site Memorial Museum of the Establishment of the Heyuan County Committee of the Communist Party of China.”
