Fengxi Forest Resort is located in the northeastern part of eastern Guangdong and the northern part of Dabu County, 54 kilometers from the county seat, 123 kilometers from Meizhou City, and 73 kilometers from Longyan City. It borders Yongding County, covers an area of 30.2 square kilometers, and is a provincial-level nature reserve. The area features overlapping peaks, beautiful scenery, and a pleasant climate, with summer temperatures around 24–28°C and winter temperatures around 2–10°C. The entire mountain range belongs to the Shui Zhu Mountain system, with relatively high terrain and elevations ranging from 600 to 1,100 meters. The slopes have gradients between 25° and 60°, and the area has a subtropical maritime monsoon climate, making it an ideal destination for tourism and summer retreats in eastern Guangdong.

The area boasts abundant wild plant resources, with a wide variety of plant species—currently 155 families and 745 species—dominated by evergreen broad-leaved forests. The forest coverage rate reaches 97%. It is home to the national first-class protected wild plant Alsophila spinulosa (tree fern), as well as rare and endangered second-class protected tree species such as Tsoongiodendron odorum (magnolia), Bretschneidera sinensis (emmenopterys), and Ixonanthes chinensis (resin tree). There are also third-class protected rare trees like Mesua ferrea (ceylon ironwood) and Morinda officinalis (Indian mulberry). Uncommon ornamental plants such as purple-flowered trees, Ormosia microphylla (small-leafed erythrina), and Exbucklandia populnea (horse chestnut) are scattered throughout the mountain forests. The area is also rich in medicinal herbs, including Polygala fallax (yellow flowering milkwort), Ficus hirta (five-finger fig), Paris polyphylla (seven-leaf one-flower), Lonicera japonica (honeysuckle), Sonerila cantonensis (bee-hive plant), and Ganoderma lucidum (lingzhi mushroom). There are no fewer than 10 types of wild fruits, with kiwifruit—renowned worldwide for its high vitamin content—as the most famous. Additionally, there are timber species suitable for crafting high-end furniture, such as Castanopsis fissa (Lingnan red nanmu), Castanopsis sclerophylla (hardwood nanmu), and Trachycarpus fortunei (palm leaf blue).

The area is also rich in rare animal resources, with over 160 species of animals. Commonly spotted are second-class protected animals such as the leopard and clouded leopard, and occasionally the first-class protected South China tiger. Other frequently seen wildlife includes civets on the hunt, playful macaques, darting serows, snakes crossing streams, pangolins burrowing underground, tree frogs clinging to branches, scampering squirrels, and startled silver pheasants.

The resort is abundant in natural tourist resources, with major scenic spots including Fairy Pond, Female-Shaped Mountain, Hundred-Meter Cascading Waterfall, Canyon Wonders, Ancient Tree Fossils, Eagle Rock, Turtle Rock, Lion Rock, pristine secondary forest landscapes, and bamboo forest leisure areas. Currently planned and developed attractions include a Rare Plants Viewing Area (featuring Alsophila spinulosa, Tsoongiodendron odorum, and silk cotton tree flowers), a Forest Bathing Zone, Ancient Tree Fossil Sites, Canyon Adventure Areas, Fairy Pond Scenic Spots, and Pristine Secondary Forest Viewing Zones.

The Canyon Adventure Area and Pristine Secondary Forest Viewing Area are located in Qili Stream in the western part of Fengxi Forest Resort. Here, the mountains are high and the roads steep, with rugged rocks scattered about. Deep within the mountains and canyons, ancient trees tower overhead, wild vines twist and turn around roots, and two cliffs stand opposite each other with towering cliffs rising vertically. When you look up, the sky appears as a narrow line. Waterfalls cascade down, and climbing along the stream is thrilling yet safe, making it a great place for exploring, seeking tranquility, and breathing fresh air. Near the mountaintop, visitors can enjoy the lush, majestic, and natural beauty of the primeval forest.

The Rare Plants Viewing Area is situated in the northeastern part of Fengxi Forest Resort. A stone path over a meter wide connects viewing spots for Alsophila spinulosa, Tsoongiodendron odorum, silk cotton tree flowers, waterfalls, and mountain streams into a single route. Stepping into this area gives a sense of being in a serene world apart, and in summer, it is exceptionally cool. Along the trail, wildflowers bloom vibrantly, and a wide variety of wild plants thrive, including many rare species. Ticket/Opening Hours: 20 RMB per person
