Heshangling Site

The Heshangling Site is a cultural tourism attraction.

The Heshangling Site is located in Laohukeng, Taixing, Taoyuan Town, Dabu County. It dates back to the Shang Dynasty and was discovered in 1982. The artifact distribution area covers 4,000 square meters. Excavated pottery includes cauldrons, jars, and pots, adorned with cord marks, basket weave patterns, concentric ring dot motifs, trapezoidal designs, and incised wavy lines. Stone tools such as adzes and knives were also found.

Taoyuan Town: A town under the jurisdiction of Dabu County. In the past, it was called Niyuan due to the abundance of porcelain clay in the region, and later renamed Liyuan before the Qing Dynasty. During the Ming and Qing dynasties, it belonged to Guyuan Jia. In the Republican era, it was part of Gaopi District, and remained so after 1949. In 1957, it was split off to form Taoyuan Township, came under Gaopi Commune in 1958, became an independent Taoyuan Commune in 1961, was restructured as a district in 1983, and officially established as a town in the winter of 1986. It is located in the southernmost part of the county, 30 kilometers from the county seat, covering an area of 77 square kilometers with a population of 16,000. Roads connect it to Gaopi, the county town, and Raoping County.
