Dabu Wenwu Pavilion

Dabu Wenwu Pavilion is a cultural heritage site protected at the provincial level in Guangdong Province.

Dabu Wenwu Pavilion is located at the entrance of Chuanglongwo in Wuhu Mountain, Dabu County. Built in the 42nd year of the Qianlong reign during the Qing Dynasty (1777), it enshrines the deities of Literature and Martial Arts as well as the God of Literature (Kui Xing). It was renovated in the 14th year of the Republic of China (1925). The pavilion is square-shaped, with a brick, stone, wood, and earth structure, standing three stories high at 15 meters, with the ground floor spanning 12.8 meters in width and 12.75 meters in depth. It features a double-eaved hip-and-gable roof. The rooftop ridge is adorned with a precious bead and a pair of dragons playing with the pearl, with the dragons stretching 3 meters in length. Both the pearl and the dragons are inlaid with colorful ceramic pieces. On both sides of the ridge are gray plaster scrollwork designs of vines, showcasing distinct ethnic characteristics. The structure of the pavilion remains largely intact. Climbing the stairs to the top floor and looking out the windows offers a panoramic view of downtown Dabu County.

In 1985, the Dabu County People’s Government designated it as a cultural heritage protection site.
