Dabu Weixin Building

Dabu Weixin Building is located in Fenglang Town, Dabu County. Constructed in the first year of the Tongzhi reign during the Qing Dynasty (1862), the building resembles a large cylinder, with a diameter of 48 meters. At its center is a circular courtyard spanning 24 meters in diameter. The structure stands three stories tall, reaching a height of 12 meters. Each floor contains 24 rooms, totaling 72 rooms, forming a tall and imposing circular building that closely resembles a fortress. The walls are thick and sturdy, tapering slightly as they rise. The ground floor walls are 1.5 meters thick, made from a mixture of sticky rice paste, lime, sand, and soil, compacted through ramming. The second-floor walls are somewhat thinner, while the third-floor walls are 0.75 meters thick. The roof is supported by a wooden frame and covered with gray tiles. The entire building has only one main entrance, framed by granite door jambs measuring 2.55 meters in height and 1.75 meters in width, with door stonework 0.32 meters thick. The door panels are 0.09 meters thick and are reinforced with iron sheeting on the outside. At the top of the gate tower is a water storage tank with an opening leading to the top of the gate. The second and third floors are equipped with gun ports along the walls. A drinking well is located within the central courtyard. The front of the main gate opens into a large hall, which serves as a space for clan meetings, weddings, funerals, celebrations, and other communal events.

It borders the plains area of the county to the west, connects to Dadong to the east, leans against Baihou to the north, and neighbors Raoping County to the south. It lies 18 kilometers away from the county seat of Dabu. The town covers a total area of 87.23 square kilometers, including 6,033.3 hectares of mountainous land and 800 hectares of arable land.
