China Pingju Grand Theatre

The China Pingju Grand Theatre is located in Xiluoyuan, Fengtai District. Its completion not only ended the history of Pingju opera lacking a dedicated theatre but also added a jewel of art to the southern part of the city. The architectural design of the China Pingju Grand Theatre is also distinctive—the red copper paper-cutting reflects a strong ethnic style, while the arc-shaped asymmetrical porch has a modern flair. The theatre covers a construction area of 10,544 square meters and has 800 seats, with an additional 18 VIP boxes on the second floor. It is the only local theatre of its kind in China. The main stage is equipped with advanced facilities and comprehensive functions. The stage, lighting, and sound systems are all automatically controlled by a computer console, and it also features top-tier 6-channel surround sound cinema equipment in China.
