The Episcopal Complex of the Euphrasian Basilica in the Historic Centre of Poreč was inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1997 under cultural criteria C (II), (III), and (IV). Poreč is a sunny, spring-like small town with many renowned cultural relics. These include the 6th-century Euphrasian Basilica, the Temple of Neptune, and Roman-style houses, among others.

The religious complex in Poreč was built by Christians in the early 4th century and is the best-preserved of its kind. The basilica, atrium, baptistery, and episcopal palace are outstanding examples of religious architecture, with the basilica itself notable for its unique style that blends classical and Byzantine elements.
