Krka National Park

Krka National Park is located in Šibenik-Knin County, Croatia, just a few kilometers from the city of Šibenik, covering an area of 109 square kilometers. The Krka River flows through the park, which was not only the reason for its establishment but also brings it endless vitality and energy, making it one of the most beautiful parks in Croatia.

The Krka River is 73 kilometers long, with a drainage basin of 2,088 square kilometers. Along its course, it forms canyons and lakes, with waterfalls cascading down from the lakes. Among the most stunning are Skradinski Buk and Roški Slap. Skradinski Buk is acclaimed as one of the most beautiful waterfalls in Europe. Between these two waterfalls lies a 13-kilometer-long lake, in the middle of which sits the island of Visovac, built during the reign of Louis I of Hungary. On this picturesque island stands the Roman Catholic Visovac Monastery, founded in 1445. Visitors can take a boat to the island to explore this ancient monastery. In addition, Krka National Park is home to a rich diversity of flora and fauna, including many rare and protected species.
