The church blends late Gothic and Romanesque architectural styles. The original building was constructed in the 13th century, while the current structure was rebuilt in the 14th century, giving it a long and rich history. The church’s main portal features 15 sculptures: Joseph and Mary are depicted at the top, St. Mark is at the bottom, and the 12 apostles are on either side of the door. These carvings are exquisitely crafted, drawing the admiration of every visitor. Though it lacks the grandeur of other major cathedrals and does not boast lavish interior decorations, St. Mark's Church has become one of Zagreb’s most significant religious sites and an indispensable part of the city’s cultural life.
