The Croatian Museum of Natural History is located in Zagreb, the capital of Croatia. Established in 1986, it is a museum dedicated to the natural history of Croatia from ancient times to the present and is the largest natural history museum in the country.

This museum functions as both a science museum and a natural history exhibition hall, presenting the cultural and natural history from the Middle Ages to the present. It houses a rich collection of cultural and historical heritage, comprising 250,000 diverse items. The collections can be divided into categories such as rocks and minerals, geology, and paleontology. The rocks and minerals collection includes specimens from around the world, while the geology and paleontology exhibits introduce and display the origins of flora and fauna, showcasing the plants and animals that once lived in Croatia.

This richly endowed museum is one of the most important in the world for Neanderthal heritage. In addition, it also houses stone tools, skeletons, and implements from the prehistoric Krapina people.
