Historic Centre of Vienna

Vienna is a world-renowned city and the capital of Austria, famous as the "City of Music." Located in northeastern Austria on the northern banks of the Danube River at the foot of the Alps, the Danube flows through the entire city. The ancient streets of the inner city are crisscrossed, with few high-rise buildings—most are Baroque, Gothic, and Romanesque architecture.

St. Stephen's Cathedral is a Gothic church in the center of Vienna and one of the tallest Gothic ancient buildings in Europe, featuring strong local characteristics of Eastern European churches. The exterior roof of the cathedral is adorned with large, colorful patterns and is known as the "Soul of Vienna." Construction began in 1304 and was completed two centuries later, regarded as a masterpiece that represents centuries of architectural artistry. It was destroyed during World War II and rebuilt afterward, taking 10 years to largely restore its original appearance by 1958. The cathedral consists of one main building and three towers, with the south tower being the most magnificent, standing 138 meters tall in a conical shape that soars into the sky.

The Hofburg Palace is the imperial palace of the Habsburg dynasty of Austria, located in the city center of the capital, Vienna. Construction began in 1696 and was completed in 1713, taking over a decade. It was built by Emperor Karl for Prince Eugene, who was originally a French nobleman but later became a national hero for leading Austrian troops to repel the Turkish invasion. A bronze equestrian statue of him stands in the Heroes' Square in front of the palace. He was a military leader with a deep understanding of architectural art, and the architects built a classical palace modeled after the Palace of Versailles in France according to his vision. This is also a magnificent Baroque-style building and one of the most spectacular palaces in Europe.
