Vienna City Hall is a magnificent building located in Vienna, serving as the seat of the Mayor of Vienna and the City Council. Vienna City Hall is a typical neo-Gothic structure, with its arcades, loggias, balconies, pointed windows, and lavish carvings all embodying the hallmarks of Neo-Gothic style. Its designer was Friedrich von Schmidt, and it was constructed between 1872 and 1883.

Vienna City Hall stands at an actual height of 97.9 meters, reaching 104.3 meters when including the guardian knight atop the tower. The main feature of the façade is the large central tower, flanked by two slightly shorter side towers. The most eye-catching elements of its exterior are the arcades, adorned with beautiful tracery and intricately carved balconies. Above the window lintels stands a three-meter-tall armored warrior statue holding a spear, designed by Gastell, affectionately known as the Rathausman (City Hall Guardian Knight).

Inside the City Hall, there are seven courtyards. At the top of the grand staircase lies the Festival Hall, used for ceremonial events. The Vienna City Hall Cellar, located beneath the building, is a highly popular restaurant. During the summer concerts in July and August, performances take place in the arcaded courtyard and the square in front of the hall. One month before Christmas, the site transforms into a Christmas market. Additionally, exhibitions and trade fairs are sometimes held in the banquet hall.
