Finlandia Hall

Finlandia Hall is situated on the shores of Töölönlahti Bay in central Helsinki. This modern, multifunctional building resembles a giant white piano resting quietly by the lake, with its sleek lines reflected in the water, creating a picturesque scene. It is the ingenious masterpiece of the internationally acclaimed Finnish architect Alvar Aalto and is hailed as a jewel of modern Finnish architecture. The hall hosts concerts, international conferences, exhibitions, and large-scale banquets.

The entire building, both inside and out, was designed by Alvar Aalto. Construction began in 1967, with the main structure completed in 1971, while the side wing auditorium was finished in 1975. Today, it serves as the performance venue for the Helsinki Philharmonic Orchestra and hosts various concerts and events. Designed to complement the surrounding Hesperia Park and Töölönlahti Bay, especially in winter, this striking white building is an undisputed hub of modern Finnish cultural activity.
