The Museum of Contemporary Art Kiasma (Museum of Contemporary Art Kiasma) is an important branch of the Finnish National Gallery, located in central Helsinki opposite the Parliament House. Designed by the renowned architect Steven Holl, it is a strikingly curvaceous all-white building, with the architecture itself serving as a classic exhibit.

The interior of the Museum of Contemporary Art Kiasma features a boldly innovative layout. Upon entering, a curved ramp extends from the lobby basement up to the upper levels of the museum. Instead of traditional elevators, the floors are connected by spiraling corridors, creating a uniquely intricate spatial experience where you never know what surprises lie just around the corner. Most breathtaking is the museum’s use of abundant natural light that filters into every exhibition space. Standing inside for some time, you can watch sunlight slowly moving across different artworks, often mesmerized by the rich gradations of Nordic light — a far more humanized display than the mechanical feel of quartz lighting.

The collection at the Museum of Contemporary Art Kiasma mainly consists of modern artworks created after 1960, including paintings, multimedia pieces, and other exhibits.
