Suomenlinna Museum, located in Helsinki in the Uusimaa region of Finland, is a museum dedicated to the history of Suomenlinna from the 18th century to the present, as well as its fortifications. It is the best museum to learn about the history of Suomenlinna and the way of life of its inhabitants, and is highly popular.

The exhibits include a variety of cannons, ships, pictures, weapons, ammunition, and more. The most distinctive exhibit is one of Finland’s oldest ships, approximately 6.5 meters long, believed to have been built in the mid-18th century. Every half hour, the museum’s widescreen displays a presentation on the history of Suomenlinna, and visitors can use headphones to select narration in their preferred language—Finnish, Swedish, English, German, French, Spanish, Russian, or Japanese. The museum also showcases the different ways of life of residents such as soldiers, Russian merchants, and Finnish Civil War prisoners who lived on Suomenlinna.
