The beautiful Un Island is situated on the southern shore of Kaivopuisto Park near the city center, very close to the urban area, just a few minutes by boat, but once you step onto the island, you will immediately feel as though the bustling city life is far behind you.

Un Island consists of two parts connected by a narrow strait, covering an area of 3 hectares. Originally, there was an oil refinery and a paint factory on the island. In the late 19th century, it was a famous seaside bathing spot. In 1934, the Helsinki Swimming Club opened a beach here, attracting 125,000 visitors within just two months. Thanks to Un Island’s long sandy beach and high-quality services, it remains a popular holiday destination to this day.

Un Island is open all year round and can also be accessed via a pontoon bridge in winter. The island features swimming beaches, restaurants, small shops, and saunas. The most beautiful main building on the island is the former brick paint factory, which has been transformed into an elegant restaurant over twenty years ago, serving the many visitors who come and go. Without a doubt, Un Island is an excellent place for holding various celebrations and weddings.
