Mannerheim Museum

The Mannerheim Museum is located near Kaivopuisto Park in Helsinki, Finland, and is dedicated to preserving and exhibiting artifacts related to the life of Baron Mannerheim. Carl Gustaf Emil Mannerheim (June 4, 1867 – January 27, 1951, Chinese name: Ma Dahang) was a national hero of the Finnish independence movement, President of the Republic of Finland, and Marshal of Finland. After Mannerheim's death, historians spoke highly of him: “Whenever Finland faced critical turning points, he was called upon to guide the nation towards peace and independence.”

The Mannerheim Museum is actually the former residence of Mannerheim. From 1924 until his death in 1951, this was the home of President Mannerheim. Except for a few rooms converted into exhibition spaces, most of the layout remains as it was during Mannerheim’s lifetime. The museum displays furniture that was in the rooms from the early 1940s onward, along with historical materials about Mannerheim’s life. Among the most notable exhibits are medals and other honors Mannerheim received from many countries; there are also numerous war trophies, books, gifts, and portraits of his ancestors. Mannerheim’s bedroom has been preserved in its original form, showcasing the Spartan sleeping environment he preferred. In addition, the museum houses a large collection of photographs from Mannerheim’s life.
