Vantaa

Vantaa is a city in southern Finland, governed by the Uusimaa region, and together with Helsinki, Espoo, and Kauniainen, forms the Helsinki metropolitan area. It is the fourth most populous city in Finland, and Finland’s largest airport—Helsinki-Vantaa Airport—is located here.

Vantaa is home to multiple museums. The Heureka Science Centre, which opened in 1988, is a comprehensive and highly interactive science center covering a wide range of fields. It features various exhibition areas where visitors can touch and operate exhibits themselves, learning, experimenting, and discovering the wonders of science through hands-on experiences. The Finnish Aviation Museum, located near Helsinki-Vantaa Airport, opened in 1972 and displays over 9,000 items, including 80 aircraft and 22 gliders. Additionally, it houses a collection of 78,000 photographs, as well as more than 17,000 books and 160,000 aviation magazines in its library.

The Vantaa City Museum, Vantaa Agricultural Museum, Martinus Concert Hall, Vantaa Art Museum, and others are also great places to learn about the city’s history, culture, and art.
