Christiansborg Palace
Introduction: Christiansborg Palace was first built between 1773 and 1775. At that time, King Christian VI, seeking luxury, demolished the old royal palace (Copenhagen Castle) and constructed an imposing, magnificent, and comfortable new palace on its site. Since this palace served as the residence of King Christian VI, it was named Christiansborg Palace. The palace features European 18th-century Rococo architectural style. Since 1849, Christiansborg Palace has been used as a parliamentary venue. Today, it houses the Danish Parliament and is therefore also known as the Parliament Building. Transportation: Buses 1, 2, 6, 8, 9, 10, 28, 29, 31, 37, 41, 43, get off at Christiansborg Station. Admission / Opening Hours: Opening hours: 10:00–16:00; closed from December 24–31 and January 1–3. Admission: 40 kr.
