Cruise through Northern Europe to admire its stunning scenery

The five Nordic countries—Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Finland, and Iceland—have long been dream destinations for Taiwanese travelers. With their well-developed waterways, taking a cruise to connect these cities offers views that are completely different from those seen on land. There are several cruise lines operating in Northern Europe, such as Silja Line, whose routes cover major cities around the Baltic Sea, including Helsinki, Stockholm, Tallinn, Rostock, St. Petersburg, and Riga. Alternatively, there's DFDS Seaways, a Danish cruise line that operates daily sailings through the Øresund Strait between Copenhagen and Oslo, offering a wide variety of duty-free goods on board. It’s said that many Scandinavians even board the cruises specifically for the tax-free tobacco and alcohol. As the cruises pass through the narrow strait between Sweden and Denmark, you can stand on the deck and gaze at both the harbors of Helsingør and Helsingborg at the same time.

The distance between Helsinki in Finland and Helsingborg in Sweden across the strait is even shorter than that between Copenhagen and Malmö. Tourism exchange between the two cities is quite frequent, and many visitors spend one to two days traveling back and forth between them, much like the local tourism slogan goes: "Two Countries, One Destination."
