Vigo is a port city in the province of Pontevedra in northwestern Spain, located on the southern shore of Vigo Bay. It is the most populous city in the autonomous community of Galicia and the 14th largest city in Spain. As the main port in western Galicia, it serves as one of the region's important commercial hubs and is also a city rich in historical landmarks.

Vigo is not only an important industrial city in the autonomous community of Galicia but also a significant Roman center. Although few Roman structures remain today, traces of Roman architecture can still be found. The city is home to numerous museums, including the Natural Museum focusing on the environment, the Maritime Museum that showcases the sea, canned food, and naval history, the Vigo Museum of Contemporary Art—one of Spain’s most important contemporary art museums—the Castro Museum, and the Ethnographic Museum.

Vigo also boasts four high-quality beaches, making them popular destinations for both locals and tourists to relax and vacation. The most famous is Samil Beach, stretching 1,700 meters, which is ideal for beach walks and sunbathing.
