Creating a dazzling opening party
Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, Nov 25, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Shepherd's Bush in West London has been abuzz recently as Dorsett Hospitality International celebrated the grand opening of its Dorsett Shepherds Bush hotel with an unforgettable party, marking the group’s official entry into London. This flagship property in London is the newest addition to Dorsett’s portfolio and its first hotel in the UK.
To pay homage to the group’s Chinese roots, the party was themed around a unique East-meets-West celebration. Guests in attendance included selected local businesses from West London; representatives from the Hammersmith & Fulham Borough Council; corporate clients; and esteemed media from the UK, Hong Kong,Mainland China,and Malaysia, as well as friends of the group, all of whom were delighted. The exterior of the hotel was lit up brilliantly, and guests were welcomed at the entrance by London ceremonial guards and Chinese Terracotta Army figures.
The hotel lobby, bar,“Gold,”and the Pictures restaurant were all newly decorated, featuring an Oscar-style red carpet; dramatic lighting effects; six large red lanterns hanging from the ceiling; and table decorations using British bulldogs and lucky cats.
Guests mingled and networked while enjoying champagne, Chinese dim sum, and gourmet snacks, which were provided by the nearby upscale Chinese restaurant Shikumen and the hotel’s own Pictures restaurant.
The hotel arranged a captivating string quartet to provide musical entertainment throughout the evening, further enhanced by performances from Chinese drummers, adding a dramatic flair. Aerial gymnasts dressed in shimmering, form-fitting costumes descended from above to pour champagne for guests, then performed dazzling aerial stunts in mid-air above the bar"Gold",suspended by red ribbons. Additionally, magician Fay Presto, who has performed for the Queen and was previously named “Party Entertainer of the Year” by Tatler magazine, wowed the party crowd with incredible magic tricks.
