War Memorial Sculpture Park
The Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression Memorial Sculpture Park is located in a triangular area between Wanping Town in Fengtai District and the Beijing–Shijiazhuang Expressway, bordered by the Yongding River to the west, the Beijing–Shijiazhuang Highway to the south, and Wanping Town to the north. Covering an area of 20 hectares, it is a patriotic education base in Beijing invested in and constructed by the Beijing Municipal Government.
The sculpture park includes major scenic areas such as the Monument to the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, the sculpture group area, the central square, the Wanping City Wall, and green forests. Within the park stands the Monument to the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, inscribed with calligraphy personally penned by former President Jiang Zemin; there is also a sculpture group area themed around the national anthem, reflecting the eight-year bloody history of the Chinese people’s resistance during the war, along with a sunken central square and the historic Wanping City Wall. Visitors can also admire 18 species of trees and precious plants, including cedar, silk tree, and pearl bush.
