Fenhe Park

Fenhe Park is a national AAAA-level tourist attraction.

A large urban ecological landscape park located in the center of Taiyuan. Its first phase was constructed between October 1998 and September 2000, with a total investment of 560 million yuan. It is a landscape garden featuring the style of northern Chinese gardens and the regional culture of the Fenhe River in Taiyuan. Stretching 6 kilometers in length and 500 meters in width, it covers an area of 300 hectares, forming 1.3 million square meters of water surface and 1.3 million square meters of green space. It is currently the largest and most concentrated public green space and recreational area in Taiyuan. It also serves as a water storage and beautification project for the Fenhe River section within the urban area of Taiyuan. The artificial compound river channel is divided into eastern and western canals by a central partition wall. The eastern clear water canal, 220 meters wide, is divided into three levels of water storage lakes by four rubber dams. The western muddy water canal, 80 meters wide, discharges upstream floodwaters and irrigation water from reservoirs. Each side of the east and west banks is equipped with a box culvert for sewage discharge, collecting urban sewage pipelines and water from hillside tributaries, which is then transported to downstream sewage treatment plants for purification.

Distributed along the strip-shaped green platforms on both sides of the park are 4 themed squares, 6 natural scenic areas, and 7 sightseeing spots.
