Typhoon Chan-hom Approaches: List of Cancelled Events and Closed Attractions on the 10th

Affected by Typhoon Chan-hom, a medium-strong typhoon, northern Taiwan must guard against heavy rainfall. Information on event cancellations, park closures, and tourist site shutdowns is as follows:

Events Cancelled or Postponed

Keelung
The National Museum of Marine Science and Technology will be closed on the 10th. The originally scheduled canoeing activity on the 11th (Saturday) and the intertidal zone activity on the 12th (Sunday) have been cancelled. The Animal Planet Channel’s “Marine Animal Certification” event on the 11th will proceed as planned. If Keelung City Government announces work or school suspensions, the museum will also close accordingly.

Taipei
The Dajia Kids’ Water Play Area will close starting the afternoon of July 8 in response to the typhoon, with reopening time to be announced on the official website.
Guandu Nature Park will be closed on July 10 (Friday).
Taipei Zoo will be closed for the day on July 10.
The National Palace Museum will be closed on July 10 due to work and school suspensions in Taipei City.

Exhibitions
The Huashan Dreamy Goldfish Special Exhibition will be closed for one day on July 10.
The Science Education Center’s Moomin Special Exhibition will be closed for one day on July 10.
The Songshan Smokehouse Dreamy Special Exhibition will be closed for one day on July 10.
The 25th Anniversary Cherry Blossom Little Mermaid School Festival Special Exhibition will be closed for one day on July 10.
The 60th Anniversary Hello Kitty Special Exhibition will be closed for one day on July 10.
The Truth About Da Vinci – A Genius’ Masterpiece will be closed for one day on the 10th.
Mirror, in Silence. Chen Zhiju’s Visual Art Solo Exhibition will be closed for one day on the 10th.
Color Magician – Kveta Pacovská’s Picture Book Kingdom will be closed for one day on the 10th.
Theater of Big Dreams – Dream Lounge X National Film Theater will be closed for one day on the 10th.
Body and Memory – Dance Works Special Exhibition by Lai Cuishuang X Zhang Tingting will be closed for one day on the 10th.
Wangdao Chess Academy will be closed for one day on the 10th.

Taipei Songshan Airport
The originally scheduled event this Saturday (July 11), the “Little Flight Attendant Activity,” has been postponed to Saturday, August 1, in the morning.

New Taipei
Shifen Waterfall Park will stop admitting visitors starting July 10. The reopening date will be announced after the typhoon warning is lifted, depending on the park’s recovery status.
On July 10, garbage collection in New Taipei will be suspended. Some visitor centers and facilities in scenic areas will close in coordination with work and school suspensions. Libraries will also be closed for one day.
Yehliu Geopark announces temporary closure to the public on 7/10.

Taoyuan
Fuxing Township, Taoyuan Fairy Valley will be closed for one day on the 10th.

Yilan
Yilan Children's Festival will temporarily close for one day on the 10th.

Luye Forest District Office
Taipingshan National Forest Recreation Area will be closed from 14:00 on July 9 to July 10, and no accommodation will be provided.
Natural trails under the jurisdiction of the Luye Forest District Office will be closed starting July 10 (including the Linkou Shihpan Trail, Jiaoxi Horse-Riding Ancient Trail, Madonna Mountain Hiking Trail, Songluo Trail, Jiuliaoxi Nature Trail, Quan Toumu Nature Trail, Xinliao Waterfall Trail, Chaoyang Trail, Su-Hua Ancient Trail – Danan’ao Crossing Section, Nan’ao Ancient Trail, Xindian Shitoushan Trail, Jingualiao Fish and Fern Trail, etc.).

Hualien Forest District Office
Chinan, Fuyuan National Forest Recreation Areas, Lintianshan Forestry Culture Park, Danong Danfu Plain Forest Park, Rueisuei Ecological Education Hall, and all trails under their jurisdiction are currently not recommended for visitation.

Pingtung Forest District Office
Beidawu National Trail and Jinsuiying Ancient Trail remain closed, and applications for the GuiGu Villa are temporarily suspended.

Chiayi Forest District Office
Alishan National Forest Recreation Area and all trails within its jurisdiction are currently not recommended for visitation.

Dongshi Forest District Office
Daxueshan, Baxianshan, Hehuanshan, and Wuling National Forest Recreation Areas and their associated trails are currently not recommended for visitation.

Hsinchu Forest District Office
Wulai Shuttle Train, Neidong, Dongyanshan, Manyueyuan, and Guanwu Forest Recreation Areas, as well as Lalashan Nature Reserve, will be closed starting July 10.
