Liu Yiguang, Director of the Chiayi Forest District Office, stated that Duli Mountain Trail, one of the three ancient trails in Zhushan Township near Chiayi City, has seen increasing public interest in outdoor activities with societal progress and economic development. The office began renovating the trail in 1997 (the 86th year of the Republic of China) to restore its historical charm. The trail features tropical tree shades, valleys, rich phytoncides and negative ions, as well as the unique spiral railway of Duli Mountain, attracting many hikers and railway enthusiasts. It is one of the most popular hiking trails.
