Summer Love in Lanyang: Jiaoxi Hot Spring Beer Festival

Soaking in hot springs isn’t just for winter. To promote Jiaoxi’s hot springs in summer, the Jiaoxi Township Office specially organized a series of events for the “Jiaoxi Hot Spring Beer Festival” from August 26 to August 28. The event included exciting performances, a thousand-person toast, hot spring cuisine, freebies, and more. With the slogan “Hot springs boost circulation, beer cools the soul,” the festival invited everyone to come soak and enjoy in Jiaoxi.

As part of the campaign to promote “Don’t drink and drive, don’t drive after drinking,” and to encourage the use of public transport to attend the events, participants could exchange their same-day ticket stubs or proof of purchase from Capital Bus, Kavalan Bus, Ubus, or Taiwan Railways for a free 350ml draft beer (limited to 200 cups per day from 17:00 to 19:00) during the event period. On the opening day (August 26), free Slurpees were also available on-site to help attendees beat the heat.
 

There was also the “Thousand-Person Toast Beer Bar” event. At 3:30 p.m. on August 27, the township office offered chilled beer and limited-edition commemorative beer mugs to 1,000 participating attendees. Registration was available on the event website. As for performances, each day had a different theme: August 26 was “Summer Hot Spring Party,” August 27 was “Rock Night Without Sleep,” and August 28 was “Jazz Fun & Relax.” Each day featured seven hours of stage performances, along with various fun competitions to engage the audience. Other highlights included the Summer Love in Jiaoxi Night Market, local specialty exhibits, and a summer-themed fireworks show.
