Limited-time “Spring Journey”! Registration for flower and bird watching in Hualien starts on the 12th

As winter gradually fades and spring steps closer, wildflowers in Liyu Mountain Forest begin to bloom, while migratory and mountain birds taking shelter for the winter also take the chance to recharge their energy. The Chengnan Nature Education Center in Hualien Pool has responded to the afforestation activities of the Hualien Forest District Office and specially organized a“Birdsong and Blossoms in Liyu Mountain”themed event, leading the public to conduct ecological observations in Liyu Mountain.

Registration for the “Birdsong and Blossoms in Liyu Mountain” event starts at 09:00 AM on March 12. The event is registration-based online, with 40 spots available. The fee is 100 NTD per person, and participants under high school age must be accompanied by a parent (as birdwatching requires maintaining silence at all times, please be mindful of voice volume). On the day of the event, March 28, participants will gather at 7:00 AM at the South Liyu Pond Parking Lot.

Wu Kun-ming, Director of the Hualien Forest District Office, stated that in coordination with the afforestation activities of the Hualien Forest District Office, the Chengnan Nature Education Center has specially organized the “Birdsong and Blossoms in Liyu Mountain” themed event, leading the public on a spring outing to enjoy flowers in Liyu Mountain. The event also invites bird survey experts to introduce commonly seen birds in Hualien and their habitats, as well as convey the importance of protecting various habitats to enhance the public’s conservation awareness.
