Situated in the Saint Joseph parish on the east coast of Barbados, Bashyba faces the Atlantic Ocean, where strong winds and high waves have sculpted the rocks into a variety of spectacular shapes. The "Mushroom Cloud" rock formation is the most iconic, standing majestically amidst the crashing waves—towering and awe-inspiring year-round, attracting large numbers of visitors.

The mushroom cloud-shaped rocks come in a multitude of unique forms, either grouped together or standing solitary, rising from the sea. They continuously showcase the incredible power of nature to visitors who come and go. This area is also a popular holiday destination for locals, and international surfing competitions are frequently held here. The coastal trees, shaped by constant strong winds, lean in one direction, creating a peculiar landscape reminiscent of parts of Scotland—hence it's also dubbed Barbados' "Scotland."

In addition to the "Mushroom Cloud" rock formations, the Bashyba Mushroom Cloud Scenic Area also boasts captivating beaches. The tides ebb and flow, allowing visitors to stroll along the sand in rhythm with the waves.
