Lake Sevan
Attraction Introduction: The lake's name is derived from the Armenian word for "black monastery," referring to an ancient 4th-century black stone monastery located on a small island in the northwest corner of the lake. It is also known as Gokcha Lake, a Turkic name meaning "blue water." Features: Lake Sevan is the largest alpine lake in the Caucasus and a famous tourist destination.
