The Kapitan Keling Mosque is situated in the central area of George Town, Penang. It was built in 1802 by Indian Muslim traders. Originally, the mosque had a square layout with verandas and a pitched roof, which was later expanded. In 1926, it was given a Moorish architectural style thanks to donations from Muslims and Hindus as well as an architect commissioned for the purpose.

The Kapitan Keling Mosque serves as a place of worship for Muslims in the region and is the oldest mosque in Penang, boasting a long history. Initially, it was just a single-story building, but over time, through continuous modifications, it has become quite magnificent. Its tall minaret reaches toward the sky and is a symbol of the mosque, making it easier for visitors to locate.

The Kapitan Keling Mosque features a white-walled, red-roofed structure. The interior is supported by white pillars, giving off a very sacred atmosphere. The interior decorations are also very distinctive and are worth appreciating and admiring in detail.
