A giant whale skeleton measuring approximately 10 meters in length.   Introduction

The Thailand Aquarium is situated within the Thailand Science Center at Srinakharinwirot University in Bang Saen, about 80 kilometers from Bangkok. In the main hall, there is a giant whale skeleton about 10 meters long, which was beached and died not far from the aquarium in 1975 and then taxidermied. The hall features several cylindrical acrylic tanks with diameters of about 1 meter, housing a variety of representative tropical marine creatures. Viewed from all sides, these creatures appear several times larger than their actual size. The aquarium also has over 40 glass enclosures, with the largest capable of holding 200 tons of water and the smallest half a ton. These enclosures simulate the natural marine environment, allowing visitors to see rugged seabeds, colorful coral reefs, and even ancient shipwrecks on the ocean floor, as well as hundreds of different types of marine organisms including cnidarians, mollusks, arthropods, echinoderms, and vertebrates—most notably a wide range of fish species, from various edible fish to uniquely shaped ornamental and poisonous fish.
