Bangkok Folk Museum

The Bangkok Folk Museum is located in Bang Rak District, Bangkok, the capital of Thailand. It mainly showcases the lifestyle of the middle class from 1937 to 1957, consisting of four buildings and a garden. Three of the buildings are open to visitors, while the fourth is occupied by Waraporn Surawadi, who played a major role in founding and opening the museum.

The first building was once the home of the Surawadi family, constructed in 1937 as a two-story wooden structure, comprising a dining room, living room, kitchen, bedroom, and more. It primarily displays furniture, household utensils, stationery, machinery, and handicraft tools. The ceramics in the kitchen date back to 1899–1913 and originated from China. Additionally, a grand floor-standing pendulum clock is particularly distinctive, and an old gramophone still plays melodious music. The second house, built in 1929, mainly exhibits medical equipment. The third house serves as a community library, providing convenient access to books for local residents.
