Wat Mangkon Kamalawat is located on - Street in Bangkok, the capital of Thailand. Built in the early 1870s, it is the earliest Buddhist temple established by Chinese immigrants in Bangkok and is the largest and most significant Chinese-style temple in Thailand. The temple enjoys year-round incense offerings and is highly popular among Bangkok's Chinese community, who frequently visit to worship and pray for peace.

There is also a story behind the origin of the temple’s name. Longlian, a product from Chengyanggang in Chenghai County, Chaoshan, Guangdong, was one of the goods exported to Thailand. The current site of the temple was once an area where Longlian seeds were gathered and sold, so when the temple was built, it was named Wat Mangkon Kamalawat (Dragon Lotus Temple). The temple is built in classic Chinese architectural style, featuring roof tiles adorned with carvings of animals and floral patterns, including dragons that symbolize China. The main hall houses three glistening golden Buddha statues in traditional Chinese style, as well as several smaller ones.

The liveliest times at Wat Mangkon Kamalawat are during traditional Chinese festivals. During events such as Chinese New Year and the Nine Emperor Gods Festival, the temple holds grand celebrations, drawing large crowds of worshippers and visitors in a vibrant and bustling atmosphere.
