Chitralada Palace

Chitralada Palace is situated in Dusit District, Bangkok, the capital of Thailand, and is the Bangkok residence of King Bhumibol Adulyadej and Queen Sirikit. King Bhumibol was the first king of the Chakri Dynasty to live in Chitralada Palace. He moved here after the death of his elder brother, King Rama VIII, at the Grand Palace in Bangkok.

Covering a total area of 4 square kilometers and surrounded by a moat, the main buildings of the palace are two-storey structures built by King Rama VI. The Chitralada School, established within the palace grounds in 1958, was originally founded for the royal children and is now one of Thailand’s most prestigious schools. Due to the king's interest in agriculture, the palace grounds include rice fields, a mill, fish ponds, and a dairy farm, as well as an agricultural research center that provides training for farmers. Many of the products from Chitralada Palace are labeled under the 'Chitralada' brand. Visitors can tour the site upon obtaining a permit.
