Seongsan Ilchulbong

Seongsan Ilchulbong Peak stands 182 meters above sea level and was formed by an undersea volcanic eruption 100,000 years ago. Located at the eastern tip of Jeju Island, it is a towering rock formation with a massive crater at its summit. The crater is 600 meters in diameter, 90 meters deep, and covers an area of over 80,000 pyeong. Ninety-nine sharp rocks surround the crater, resembling a huge crown. The southeast and north sides are cliffs, while only the northwest side is a grassy ridge that connects to Seongsan Village. Thanks to the grass covering the ridge, it's perfect for both walking and horseback riding. Watching the sunrise from the top of Seongsan Ilchulbong Peak is truly breathtaking. In spring, the nearby rapeseed flowers bloom in bright yellow, making the sunrise even more magical.

Transportation 1. From Jeju Suburban Bus Terminal to Seongsan Ilchulbong: Take an eastbound (to Seogwipo) suburban bus and get off at the Seongsan Ilchulbong entrance (takes about 1 hour 30 minutes, buses run every 20 minutes). 2. From Seogwipo Suburban Bus Terminal to Seongsan Ilchulbong: Take an eastbound (to Jeju City) suburban bus and get off at the Seongsan Ilchulbong entrance.
