The view of Hallasan Mountain from Donneko (Donneko) Amusement Park in Jeju Island is the most majestic. Cold, crystal-clear spring water flows down from the mountain into the deep valley, where waterfalls and dense temperate evergreen forests create a harmonious and breathtakingly beautiful landscape. A 20-minute walk from the park will take you to the Mandarin Duck Falls (5 meters high) and a small pond. The shaded forest path along the valley is a perfect spot for forest bathing and leisurely strolls. The valley is flanked by temperate evergreen forests, home to Hanlan (a rare orchid that grows in the evergreen forest zone at altitudes of 70–900 meters in southern Jeju, blooming from December to January) and winter strawberries. Donneko Amusement Park is located in this beautiful valley and sees the most visitors around the lunar calendar date of July 15th, known as “Baekjung.” On Jeju’s “Baekjung Day,” it is customary to slaughter chickens and splash water. It is said that being splashed with water on this day can cure all neuralgia. Because of this, many people flock to Donneko every year on Baekjung. The name “Donneko” comes from the fact that the area used to have many wild boars, but none have been seen since 1920.

Transportation: Take a local bus via Route 5.16 from Jeju Intercity Bus Terminal and get off at Seogwipo Industry Science High School Station (approximately 55 minutes to 1 hour), then walk about 5 minutes. By taxi, it takes about 40 minutes.
