The Seogwipo Submarine first opened in 1988 as the only submarine sightseeing program in Korea, and it is also the first in the East and the third in the world to operate such a service. After more than twenty years of development, the submarine sightseeing department has accumulated extensive experience and made significant improvements in safety and convenience, attracting an increasing number of tourists who take the submarine to explore the mysterious underwater world near Seogwipo.

The operating area of the Seogwipo Submarine is Mwaneom Island in Seogwipo, designated as a Natural Cultural Heritage Site of Korea. As a protected natural area, its seabed is home to a variety of coral reefs and fish, along with diverse seaweed species. Passengers inside the submarine can clearly observe the beautiful underwater scenery, cheerful schools of fish, and precious coral clusters, making them feel as if they are in a fairy-tale world.

Since its opening, the Seogwipo Submarine sightseeing program has maintained a Guinness World Record for safe operation, and has also been recognized as an Outstanding Sightseeing Entity in the submarine tourism industry. Recently, they introduced a newly built, largest and most advanced submarine from Finland, offering visitors an even better sightseeing experience.
