Seopjikoji

Seopjikoji is located in Sinhyeol-ri, Seongsan-eup, Seogwipo-si, Jeju Special Self-Governing Province, South Korea. “Seopji” is the ancient name of this area, while “koji” is a Jeju dialect term meaning a protruding landform. Seopjikoji is one of the most famous tourist destinations along the eastern coast of Jeju Island, attracting large numbers of domestic and international visitors every year.

The coastal cliffs of Seopjikoji feature a wide expanse of grassland with not a single tree in sight. The shoreline is dotted with oddly shaped rocks, among which the Seonjiseok Rock stands out as particularly eye-catching and is a popular spot for photos. In addition, at one end of the area stands a lighthouse. Along the path leading to the lighthouse, there are stone walls built to block the wind, and within these walls lies a field of rapeseed flowers that bloom into the most dazzling yellow every April. The lighthouse has iron steps that can be easily climbed, and standing by the railing, visitors can enjoy a panoramic view of the Seopjikoji coastline.
