Tobu World Square

Tobu World Square was established on April 24, 1993, as a large-scale theme park dedicated to the preservation of world historical landmarks and architecture. It is located in Nikkō City, Tochigi Prefecture, in Japan’s Kantō region, and features meticulously scaled 1:25 replicas, recreations, and displays of 42 UNESCO World Heritage Sites—including the Statue of Liberty in the United States, the Pyramid of Menkaure in Egypt, the Parthenon in Greece, China’s Great Wall, and the Forbidden City—as well as 102 globally renowned buildings such as the Empire State Building, giving visitors the sensation of traveling the world while exploring the park.

Tobu World Square is divided into six major themed zones: Modern Japan, the Americas, Egypt, Europe, Asia, and Japan. The landmarks and buildings within each zone are highly representative, exquisitely carved, and remarkably lifelike. The park provides telescopes and portable audio guides, allowing visitors to enjoy detailed commentary about the sites while using binoculars to closely admire the intricate carvings on the buildings and savor the essence of cultures from around the globe.

In addition to the architectural models from around the world, Tobu World Square also features 20,000 real bonsai plants that adorn the structures and change colors with the seasons, adding even more vibrancy and diversity to the entire park.
