Otaua City is a city in the northeastern part of Tochigi Prefecture, Japan. Established in 2005, it serves as the political, economic, cultural, and administrative center of northern Tochigi Prefecture. The rice produced in this city is particularly well-known in Japan, and it is also abundant in fruits such as strawberries, blueberries, and pears.

Otaua City boasts numerous historical sites, making it an ideal destination for history enthusiasts. These include the ruins of Otau Castle, Kurobane Castle, Sakuyama Jin’ya Site (Goten'yama Park), Fukuhara Jin’ya Site, Unganji Temple, Daionji Temple, Kōshinji Temple, Genjōji Temple, and the Nasu Kokuzō Monument. It is also a great spot for soaking in hot springs, with several options to choose from such as Otau Onsen, Kurobane Onsen, Sakuyama Onsen, and Yuzukami Onsen—perfect for relaxing both body and mind.
