Gaomei Wetlands

Although not large in size, Gaomei Wetlands features a mix of muddy and sandy flats, along with interwoven estuarine marshland, nurturing a rich and complex wetland ecosystem. It is also home to Taiwan’s largest known population of Spartina cynosuroides, with an equally diverse range of ecological species—primarily birds, fish, crabs, and other invertebrates.

Gaomei Bicycle Path

The Gaomei Bicycle Path is equipped with facilities such as the “Riverside Ecological Interpretation Garden,” “Lighthouse Museum,” “Ecological Exhibition and Sales Area,” “Service Facilities Zone,” “Ecological Interpretation Experience Garden,” “Coastal Ecological Learning Park,” and “Power Museum,” allowing visitors to enjoy the beautiful scenery along the way while gaining a deeper understanding of Gaomei Wetlands.

The Gaomei Bicycle Path runs along the Qingshui Drainage Canal and the seawall up to Gaomei Wetlands. Starting from Binhai Bridge in the south to the Gaomei Seawall Flood Control Road in the north, it spans a total length of 1.7 kilometers. The path runs close to the Qingshui Drainage Canal and Gaomei Wetlands, offering not only an aerial view of the entire wetland area but also making it a great spot for birdwatching and watching the sunset.
