Hidden Edition of Teddy Bear Exhibition Debuts: 12 Bears Appear in Taichung Park

The exhibition in Taichung Park started on December 12, featuring 76 teddy bears of various designs scattered throughout the park. After December 21, 12 hidden-edition teddy bears will make their appearance, along with 12 “zodiac bears” along the streets from Taichung Railway Station to Taichung Park, bringing the total number of teddy bears in Taichung to 100.

The “2015 Lohas Bear City Carnival,” a dual-city exhibition held in both Taichung and Taipei, kicked off in Taichung Park with the theme “Love • Sharing.” Set against the backdrop of the city-designated historic site, Lake Heart Pavilion, and the old streets of central Taichung, the event features 100 teddy bears. Currently, 88 teddy bears have appeared in Taichung Park, while 12 “zodiac bears” are displayed along the streets from Taichung Railway Station to the park, allowing visitors to rediscover different corners of Taichung through the army of teddy bears.

In addition to the 100 teddy bears, the Lohas Bear exhibit adds vibrant colors to Taichung’s old town. In conjunction with the scenery around Lake Heart Pavilion, a 7-meter-tall super-sized inflatable Lohas Bear will be displayed on the lake surface during the exhibition period. This large-scale installation art reflects beautifully on the green lake scenery, creating a dialogue between the artwork and nature, and generating more surprising landscape installations.
